Stephen Moore joined NCDC in August 2025, has been a director of Northmavine Community Development Company (NCDC) since 2023, holding the position of  Vice – Chair as well as Chair for the Hillswick Shop (a community owned and operated NCDC subsidiary ) 

Stephen grew up in Brae and attended Brae High School and Anderson High School in Lerwick before leaving Shetland to start his training in the oil industry which would lead to a career spanning more than 35 years in various locations throughout the World, predominately in Production Operations, Maintenance, Project Management, Health and Safety, Emergency Response, Business Development to name but a few! In 2019 Stephen returned to Shetland with his family and has made Northmavine his home, where he hopes to share his skills and experience gained over the years for the benefit of NCDC and his local community.   

Stephen is passionate about his surroundings and loves exploring the outdoors whether on foot with his dog, by bike or by motorbike. He never takes for granted the life that Shetland gave to him from a young age, so much so that it was always his intention to return ‘home’ in later life.
