Charlotte Anderson – Project Development Officer
Charlotte joined the NCDC team in August 2021 after seven years at the NAFC Marine Centre in the marine planning department.
Originally from Orkney, Charlotte moved to Northmavine in 2014 and has been actively involved in the community ever since.
Charlotte completed a BA Hons in Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and an MA with distinction in Island Studies through the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Karlyn Garrick – Administration Assistant
Karlyn joined in October 2023 after working in the Creative Industries sector at Shetland Arts. She lives in Voe with her family.
She enjoys music and performing with two local bands, going out walking, knitting and spending time with family.
Franzi Steinhoefer – Financial Admin Assistant
Franzi joined the NCDC team in September 2025.
Originally, she’s from Germany and moved to Shetland in 2018.
Ever since, she’s been active in her community in different roles.
Before she emigrated, she used to work as a social care worker for over 12 years.
She calls crafts, music and outdoor activities her passion.
Kev Forth – Growing Local Project Community Gardener
Kev joined in October 2025 as a community Gardner. He lives in Brae with his with Sue, daughter Evie, mother in law Margaret and Daisy the dog.
Originally from Leeds and latterly Redcar. He moved to Shetland 4 years ago and is a keen photographer enjoying the Mirrie Dancers and photographing Orca.
