Midfield and Askalong are 2
self-catering houses set against the magnificent backdrop of Gluss
Isle and Yell Sound. Blythoid is a traditional
croft house in Ollaberry which has fine views of Yell Sound but
is not Scottish Tourist Board rated.
Midfield 
Midfield is a fully modernised croft house in
the heart of the crofting community at Bardister. Bardister is
35 miles from Lerwick and is in the parish of Northmavine in the
north of Mainland, Shetland's largest island. The scenery is varied
and makes good walking country and the coast is never far away.
The area abounds with wild flowers and the bird life is varied.
The crofthouse has 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 single
bedroom and has colour TV, video and satellite reception. Heating
is by electric panel heaters in each room and there is an additional
electric fire in the lounge area. Appliances include cooker, microwave,
dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. A cot and high chair
can be made available. There is a payphone in the house.
Askalong 
Askalong is a more recent chalet
which can also sleep 5 people and has up to date facilities all
on one level. It is situated a little distance to the south of
Midfield croft house. Heating is provided by electric storage
heating, parking is available for 2-3 cars, a shed is available
for bikes and outdoor gear and all bedding and fresh towels are
provided.
Blythoid
Blythoid is a traditional croft
house in Ollaberry which has fine views of Yell Sound. Accommodation
comprises a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen with dining
room and 2 bathrooms - one with shower and another with a bath.
Facilities include a cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine
and dryer and TV. There is a bed settee in the sitting room allowing
sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people.
